This Privacy Policy explains how Skycaster collects, uses, and protects your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable privacy laws.

Skycaster ("we", "us", "our") is operated by Hitex World Operations SA, Route d'Amont 14, 1720 Corminboeuf, Switzerland, which is the data controller responsible for your personal information when you use skycaster.tv. Contact: support@skycaster.tv
We collect the following categories of personal data: Account data - name, email address, organisation name, billing address, collected when you register or subscribe. Payment data - payment method details processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not store full card numbers on our servers. Usage data - pages visited, features used, API requests made, collected automatically via server logs and our own cookieless website statistics (see section 9). Technical data - IP address, browser type, device type, timezone, collected automatically. Communications - emails you send to support@skycaster.tv.
We process your personal data on the following legal bases: • Contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) - to provide the Skycaster service, process payments, and manage your subscription. • Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) - to maintain security, prevent fraud, improve the service, send service-related communications, and measure how our website is used with anonymous, cookieless statistics (see section 9). You can object to the statistics at any time. • Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR) - to comply with tax, accounting, and financial regulations. • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) - for the partner referral cookie (sc_ref) and for loading embedded YouTube videos, which you give by accepting marketing in our cookie banner (this also lets the homepage video play automatically), allowing the referral prompt, or pressing play on a video.
We use your data to: • Provide, operate, and improve the Skycaster platform. • Process payments and manage subscriptions via Stripe. • Authenticate users and protect accounts via Firebase Authentication. • Send transactional emails (account confirmations, invoices, support replies) via Nodemailer. • Monitor service health, security incidents, and API usage. • Comply with legal obligations.
We share data with the following trusted third parties only as necessary to provide the Service: • Stripe, Inc. - payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data. (stripe.com/privacy) • Google Firebase (Google LLC) - authentication, database, and hosting. (firebase.google.com) • Open-Meteo - weather data API. No personal data is shared. (open-meteo.com) • OpenWeather Ltd - current conditions for the location shown in the website header. Receives coordinates only, via our servers. (openweather.co.uk/privacy-policy) • Upstash, Inc. - caching, rate limiting and website statistics. Stores cached account settings, API key metadata and aggregate visit counts. (upstash.com) • RainViewer - rain radar and satellite map tiles, loaded by your browser in the dashboard. Receives your IP address. (rainviewer.com) • CARTO, Esri and Amazon Web Services - basemap, satellite and terrain tiles, loaded by your browser in the dashboard. Receive your IP address. • Unsplash - city background images. Receives city names only, via our servers. (unsplash.com/privacy) • Vercel, Inc. - cloud hosting and edge network. (vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy) • Google (YouTube) - our product videos. Nothing is loaded from YouTube until you press play, or, if you accepted marketing, until the homepage video scrolls into view; after that Google receives your IP address and may set cookies under its own privacy policy. (policies.google.com/privacy) All processors are subject to data processing agreements and are required to implement appropriate safeguards.
Some processors (e.g. Stripe, Firebase, Vercel) may process data outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Where data is transferred outside the EEA, we rely on European Commission Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or equivalent safeguards to protect your data.
We retain your personal data only as long as necessary: • Account data: retained for the duration of your subscription plus 7 years for tax and financial compliance. • Usage and log data: retained for up to 12 months. • Website statistics: only aggregate counts are stored, for up to 13 months. The daily key used to recognise unique visitors is deleted after 48 hours. • Support communications: retained for 3 years after the last correspondence. After the retention period, data is securely deleted or anonymised.
If you are located in the EEA or UK, you have the following rights: • Right of access - request a copy of your personal data. • Right to rectification - correct inaccurate or incomplete data. • Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten") - request deletion of your data where no overriding legal basis exists. • Right to restriction - ask us to pause processing while a dispute is resolved. • Right to data portability - receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format. • Right to object - object to processing based on legitimate interests or for direct marketing. • Right to withdraw consent - where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time without affecting prior processing. To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@skycaster.tv. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies. For full details, including a list of cookies we set, see our Cookie Policy at skycaster.tv/cookies. To understand how our website is used, we run our own website statistics. They use no cookies and store nothing on your device. When you view a page, our servers combine your IP address and browser type with a random key that changes every day and is deleted after 48 hours, and keep only the resulting one-way code, so we can count unique visitors per day without being able to identify you or follow you across days or other websites. Your IP address is never stored. We record the page viewed, the referring website, your country (derived from your IP address) and your device type (desktop, mobile or tablet), and keep only aggregate counts. Pages inside the logged-in dashboard are not counted, and the data is not shared with or sold to anyone. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in understanding and improving our website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can object at any time by turning off "Analytics" under "Cookie preferences" at the bottom of any page. We also stop counting when your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal.
We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit, nonce-based Content Security Policy headers, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. If you discover a security vulnerability, please report it responsibly to support@skycaster.tv.
Skycaster is a professional B2B platform and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified to active subscribers by email at least 14 days before they take effect. The "Last updated" date below reflects the most recent revision.
